We have been lucky enough to be involved with the Barn, Little London since its inception as a drive through food collection at the beginning of Lockdown in April 2020.

Inspired to support the local independent food producers Emma Schwarz pioneered a simple Saturday food collection allowing customers to order online from a wide range of food producers whose businesses had been impacted by Covid-19.  A 10% handling fee was generously added to all food orders which was channelled directly to UKHarvest to support the critical work we do distributing rescued food to the vulnerable.

Emma, a passionate foodie was determined to share her love of local food whilst championing the need to reduce food waste and provide food education.

“We need to care more about where the food is coming from, we need to know more about its provenance, we need to support our communities and we all need to eat better.”

The Barn will continue to support UKHarvest through a 10% supplement charged on all food and drink and we are looking at partnering on some cookery workshops upstairs in the Barn’s loft as soon as the current Covid rules allows.
