Easter Holidays with West Sussex Libraries
We went sunny-side-up this Easter to help West Sussex Libraries crack their lockdown shells ready for their reopening, and the public loved it!
'Absolutely brilliant. The kids loved the activity packs, and the recipe was perfect for them to cook with me'
- Participant through the library project
With lockdown keeping the doors to our local libraries closed, the announcement of the easing of restrictions came as music to many peoples ears. After a long winter of working online and drop boxes and collections at the door, they were eager to reach out into the community in order to provide free entertainment for children during the Easter Holidays - and we, of course, were keen to help!
You could find us at our bright yellow stand 17 times across the county these last two weeks, giving out free herbs, sweet treats, activities and recipes to people all across West Sussex.
We had fantastic fun saying hello to our supporters, talking to people about what we do and spreading awareness on how to reduce food waste both at home and in your community. A huge well done for all the brilliant responses from all of you, with photos of the activities you have completed and recipes you have tried.
“Thank you once again for everything you have done for the Holidays & Activities Fund, I have heard the most fantastic feedback from everyone, we couldn’t be more grateful.”
- West Sussex Libraries
Another massive thank you to our fabulous volunteers, who yet again amazed us with their dedication and enthusiasm, representing our charity with smiles and positivity despite the often chilly weather!
And of course, a huge thank you to everything West Sussex Libraries have done this Easter and their amazing team. We are looking forward to any future projects we can do together!
