Harvest Festival food donation appeal
2020 Update
Harvest Festival is being celebrated throughout the month, where farmers and growers give thanks for a successful harvest season and churches, community groups, schools and individuals give to those less fortunate.
Last year during the harvest season, UKHarvest made a real difference to families across the south coast, by collecting food from local schools and delivering it to those who need it most. This year we are back with an even bigger project that we need your help with! We've made a video specifically for Harvest Festival, showing how your donations make a difference to families who need it most.
We would like to collaborate with your school for Harvest Festival, by collecting your harvest gifts and providing our short video, all free of charge. As a charity our mission is to Nourish our Nation - raising awareness and tackling the UK’s food poverty. We are appealing for donations of dry, tinned, long-life and ambient goods. We will distribute these donations on your behalf to the 75 charitable agencies we work with throughout the local community, who provide vital services and support to vulnerable men, women and children.
If you would like to generously give to us this Harvest, please see following the steps for donating.
Steps for donating:
- Contact us to let us know you are collecting. nourishedlearning@ukharvest.org.uk
- We will send you the video to play within your assembly or tutor session.
- We will arrange one of our bright yellow vans to come to your school to collect.
What items can be donated?
Please donate any of these items to UKHarvest to distribute on your behalf to support local charities:
- tinned food (vegetables, fruit, meat, fish)
- spreads (butter, jam, honey etc.)
- long-life milk, juice and drinks
- dried pasta
- cooking sauces
- condiments
- tea and coffee
- rice

Where will the food go?
The food will be distributed to the 75 charitable and welfare agencies we support, across Hampshire, West and East Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Greater London, to help even more people in need.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping to provide urgent food relief for people in need.
