Higgidy & Homestart – Made for the Good Times
We were thrilled to link 12 families from Homestart Chichester with Higgidy to host a special meal “Made For Good Times” this Christmas. This collaborative event shared some festive cheer and warm delicious food to local families for free!
The venue, run by the Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT), is a beautiful new lodge in Keepers Green, right in the heart of Graylingwell. The Lodge and the event enabled a wonderful way to bring together a local family orientated charity, with a generous food brand like Higgidy who have kindness at their core.
Higgidy’s winter campaign was all about celebrating the good times and ensuring that this Christmas would be one of the best, making up for a difficult 18 months. In line with this, Higgidy want to ensure that everyone can enjoy good times at Christmas which is why they support local charities and community groups with providing a free festive meal to those who need it most.
UKHarvest helped co-ordinate this happy event working with the wonderful Higgidy team to serve members of the Homestart community. Together we provided a three-course supper of hand-finished pies served with roast potatoes and root veg with all the trimmings. As well as rolls for a starter and mince pies for dessert. The Lodge came alive with all the families enjoying the delicious meal together with music and festive Higgidy bunting, balloons and crackers.
"We were excited to host this wonderful Christmas meal at the Lodge in Graylingwell. Our work linking good & nutritious food to charities that need it most, has grown exponentially this last year, and we are thrilled that Higgidy’s delicious food can be shared with the families from Homestart Chichester."
