Partnering with Pollen + Grace
Given the rise in popularity of Veganuary we thought this was a perfect moment to update on the wonderful work we have been doing with our partners Pollen+Grace.
Known and loved for their delicious vegan ready meal boxes widely available in supermarkets, they have supported UKHarvest by donating 10p off every festive meal they sell. Before Christmas we had a concerted effort to promote our partnership as they packed and sent out their Christmas boxes to stakeholders from our Nourish Hub in London. These wonderful happy yellow boxes were brimming with goodies from; logoed beanie hats, tasty P+G meals, a branded calendar and even a pot of UKHarvest’s treasured Scrap&Pickle chutney.
They kindly donated some of their calendars depicting the seasonal fruit and vegetables of each month to lucky UKHarvest winners on Instagram. These calendars and graphics are a great way of encouraging everyone to embrace eating with the seasons, and enjoy what produce is naturally available during the year. We have since used these wonderful graphics as colouring sheets at our Holiday Activity Programme with the children who attended during the Christmas holidays.
We love working with their energetic marketing team, shown here with Chelsea modelling their hampers! So much of what UKHarvest does is to share awareness of how everyone can make small changes at home to reduce food waste, eat more healthily and more sustainably. Brands such as Pollen+Grace completely understand this and help us promote these messages through their social media. On the lead up to Christmas they posted fabulous weekly Food Waste Fridays blogs on how to make the most of potato peel, broccoli stalks, parsnips and orange peel. These recipes’ tips are an opportunity for everyone to think creatively about the leftover scraps of vegetables that often hold so much nutrition and can be easily added into a meal to enhance flavour, cut costs and avoid waste.
Pollen+Grace continue to expand their tasty meals and availability across the UK, and we look forward to working with them as they grow.
